03 Nov UES Seating awarded Staten Island Ferry seating contract
We are proud to be selected as the seating vendor for the new vessels for NYCDOT Staten Island Ferry, including both interior and exterior seating.
For the first time, NYC commuters were encouraged to take part in deciding which seats they will be riding on. Inspiration for the chosen design came from the seating on the iconic Kennedy class.
The Island Bench will be installed on the three new vessels, which will carry 4,500 passengers each, and will be launched 2019.
There are 109 ferry journeys between Staten Island and Manhattan on weekdays, and 22 million people use the service every year.
